Placer County's Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transit (TART) is currently accepting applications for both levels of our Bus Driver Series to fill positions in Tahoe area. TART is accepting applications for permanent full-time, permanent part-time, and temporary/extra-help assignments.

As a Bus Driver, you will operate and perform routine maintenance on a public transit vehicle in passenger service; operate a public transit vehicle safely and legally; and practice principles of good customer service.

In order to qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Level I Experience: None required, we will train you!
Level II Experience: One year of responsible paid driving experience involving the carrying of passengers or six months of training as a Bus Driver I in a Placer County transit system, and possession of a Verification of Transit Training (VTT) certificate issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles or the equivalent.

Employees who are permanently assigned to a position located in the North Lake Tahoe area are eligible to receive an additional $1,000 per month as a Tahoe Branch Assignment Premium.

This classification is eligible for a signing bonus of up to $2,000 ($1,000 to be paid at the beginning of the pay period in which the employee provides proof of a valid Class A or B driver's license with passenger endorsements and no air brake restrictions and $1,000 to be paid upon completion of 2,080 paid hours).
