Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $3,897 - $4,300 per month

Full Classification Salary Range: $3,897 - $7,051 per month
  • This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.


The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

The Dean's Assistant provides executive level analysis, development, and evaluation of administrative support to the Dean and Associate Dean of the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). The Dean's Assistant manages all academic administrative support functions, including office organization and procedures, records and files, calendar and events planning, committee and task-force organization, correspondence and scheduling of events. This position works directly with the Dean and Associate Dean on a variety of special projects, interacts with diverse constituencies on behalf of the Dean in pursuit of CHHS initiatives, and also ensures that the office runs smoothly and efficiently by managing the internal operations of the Dean's Office.

Key Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of, and the ability to utilize a variety of office equipment and technology including PC computers, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet, and Email
  • Working knowledge of operational and fiscal techniques and analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with audiences at various levels of the organization from individual contributors to executive leadership.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan work and handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience in working in a university setting providing administrative or analytical support and/or with university programs such as PeopleSoft, Qualtrics, Tableau, Interfolio, or Explorance strongly preferred.

Education and Experience
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent administrative work experience involving application, analysis and/or evaluation or policies, procedures, practices, or programs can be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, and
  • Two years of experience providing high-level administrative support to a large, complex department or organization.
