Compensation and Benefits

Salary is competitive and negotiable depending on the strength of qualifications. This is a CSU Management Personnel Plan (MPP) position.
  • Area of consideration is limited to on-campus, state funded employees only.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

The Associate Dean provides operational leadership for the Craig School of Business, including 1) serving as a primary resource for Department Chairs on faculty, staff, and student concerns, enrollment management, assigned time for research and faculty qualifications; 2) Overseeing and coordinating curriculum-related concerns, assessment, and assisting with accreditation, 3) Overseeing advising office and student experiences 4) Overseeing school budget, facilities (including renovation, safety) 5) Overseeing and coordinating student appeals (e.g., disputes, discipline), awards, honors, and scholarships and 6) representing the Dean or school on various internal committees, in the local community, and in the CSU as requested by the Dean. The Associate Dean position is a full-time, 12-month administration position.

Key Qualifications
    • Related transferable experience as department chair and a demonstrated ability to serve as a key member of the College's leadership team.
    • An ability to professionally, successfully, and effectively collaborate and interface on all levels to represent the School in accomplishing its mission.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills and superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage in meaningful ways with people from a variety of backgrounds.
    • Commitment to inclusivity and diversity, consultation, and faculty governance.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Knowledge and experience working with data to promote student success
    • Demonstrated leadership ability to promote innovative ideas and concepts
    • Understanding of campus strategic priorities
    • Understanding of academic budget and demonstrated experience with the equitable and effective use of funds.
    • Understanding of CSU collective bargaining agreements

Education and Experience
    • An earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution in a field appropriate to one of the Departments/programs in the Craig School of Business
    • Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level
    • Is a current full-time faculty member in Craig School of Business
    • Rank of full professor

This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
